As children and families spend more time at home due to Covid you may be seeing new emotions and behaviors from your child. This session will focus on how to prevent challenging behaviors form occurring at home. Understanding what is happening for your child when a challenging behavior occurs and what strategies we can use prevent challenging behaviors will be discussed. Strategies for how to respond to challenging behaviors will also be shared.
During these uncertain time adults and children are experiencing more worries and stress on a daily basis. This session will discuss how worries may be presenting in your child. Different strategies to support and respond to worries your child may have will be covered.
Even during the most typical parenting days, we may find our children’s behavior confusing. During times of stress, when a parent’s patience, attention span, and frustration-level are strained— figuring them out may seem impossible. Sometimes when children “act out” we want to ignore it and hope they just cut it out. However, “acting out” is a child’s way of communicating to us. In this workshop we will have a chance to talk through strategies for decoding and connecting to a child in order to help them manage their own feelings.

Join us to see how you can make your own fun play materials out of simple household items. Some activities include; play dough, bubbles, noise makers and more! Do you have any ideas to share with our group?! Come get your “make” on! This workshop will review milestones in the development of children’s reading and writing skills from Birth through 5 years of age. Learn activities you can do to help your child develop reading and writing skills. This parent focused workshop will review how your child learns to hear and talk from Birth to 5 years old. You will receive a summary of skills your child will learn from Birth to 3 months, 4-6 months, 7 months to 1 year, 1-2 years, 2-3 years, 3-4 years, and 4-5 years old in both speaking and hearing and understanding. You will be provided with practical strategies to help your child acquire these skills no matter what age they are. |
